As a Miami wedding photographer and videographer duo, one of our favorite things is seeing couples create a wedding day that feels completely like them. Diana and Dillon’s Vignette Gardens wedding was the perfect example. From the elegant garden setting to the pastel color palette and black tie optional dress code, every part of the day felt timeless. Then the reception started… and suddenly everyone was wearing Shrek ears.

It was unexpected, hilarious, and definitely something guests will still be talking about years from now. Their wedding perfectly balanced heartfelt moments with plenty of personality, proving that your wedding can be elegant and fun at the same time.

Diana & Dillon’s Vignette Gardens Wedding

Diana and Dillon invited about 100 of their closest family members and friends to celebrate with them at Vignette Gardens. Their vision was modern, romantic, and garden inspired. The soft pastel florals paired beautifully with the lush outdoor setting. They had a black tie optional dress code that gave the day an elevated feel.

Diana’s bridesmaids wore sage green dresses that complemented the gardens perfectly, and Dillon wore a classic tuxedo with a white dinner jacket that looked timeless against the venue’s greenery.

One of my favorite details was that their dog joined us for portraits. I always love when couples include their pets because it makes the gallery feel even more personal.

A Beautiful Outdoor Ceremony

The ceremony took place outdoors beneath the trees, surrounded by family and friends.

Diana and Dillon chose not to do a first look, so the first time they saw each other was as she walked down the aisle. Before the ceremony, though, she shared emotional first looks with her bridesmaids and family. Those moments gave everyone a chance to slow down before the celebration officially began.

One of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony was that Diana’s dad officiated the wedding. He led the ceremony, shared a prayer, and watched his daughter marry the love of her life. It added such a personal touch to the day.

Instead of reading private vows beforehand, Diana and Dillon chose to read their personal vows during the ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd!

A Reception Full of Personality

As beautiful as the ceremony was, the reception may have been even more memorable. The evening began with heartfelt toasts that had everyone laughing one minute and wiping away tears the next. Once dinner wrapped up, the dance floor quickly filled and stayed that way all night.

Diana is a huge Shrek fan, and she fully embraced it. She and Dillon put on Shrek ears, encouraged their entire wedding party to do the same, and turned the reception into one giant celebration. There was even a Shrek-inspired wedding cake and music from the movies woven into different parts of the day.

It was such a fun reminder that weddings don’t have to fit into one specific mold. Their reception still felt elegant and beautifully designed, but it also reflected their personalities in a way guests will never forget.

Vignette Gardens was the perfect venue for Diana and Dillon’s celebration. The venue combines beautiful garden landscapes with thoughtfully designed event spaces. It makes it easy for couples to host both their ceremony and reception in one location. We especially loved the outdoor ceremony space and the covered reception area, which allowed everyone to enjoy the evening outdoors while staying comfortable.

The gardens also create beautiful portrait locations throughout the property. We never had to travel far to find another gorgeous backdrop, and the greenery paired perfectly with the wedding’s soft pastel color palette.
