Beach maternity photoshoots are always a favorite of mine, especially here in Miami. There is just something about being by the water at sunset that makes everything feel more relaxed and natural. As a Miami maternity photographer, I always encourage my clients to consider a beach maternity session if they are drawn to something a little more organic and effortless! Lola and Jeremie’s beach maternity photoshoot at South Pointe Park Pier is such a good example of that.

Lola and Jeremie had just moved to Miami from Israel when they found out they were expecting. It was a big life shift all at once, settling into a new city while preparing for their baby.
I photographed their pregnancy announcement first, then this beach maternity session, and later their newborn session after their baby arrived. Getting to document all of those moments for one couple is always so meaningful! It creates a level of connection that you can really feel in the photos. By the time we met for this session, everything felt easy.

We met at South Pointe Park Pier right before sunset, which is always my favorite time to start. The light was soft and glowing over the water, and it just kept getting better as the session went on.
Lola was in the last month of her pregnancy, which made everything feel a little more emotional. She was so close to meeting her baby at that point, and I could see it in the way Lola and Jeremie interacted and in those quieter, in-between moments.
We kept things really simple and just let it flow. We walked along the shoreline, stopping when the light felt good and not overthinking anything. Those are always the moments that end up being my favorites, and it’s a big reason why I love a beach maternity session so much.

One of my favorite parts of this beach maternity session was how open Lola was to trying something a little different. Toward the end, she stepped into the water on her own as the sun was getting lower, and it just felt like such a natural moment to lean into. I’m so glad she did because those ended up being some of my favorite photos from the whole session.
A maternity session doesn’t have to look one specific way. It can feel relaxed, a little more styled, or somewhere in between. What matters most is that it feels like you and how you want to remember this season.

South Pointe Park Pier is one of my favorite spots for a beach maternity session in Miami, mostly because it gives you so much variety without needing to go far.
You can move from the shoreline to the rocks to the open water in just a few minutes, which makes the whole session feel easy and not rushed. The light at sunset is also really consistent here, so we can take our time and not feel pressured to chase it.
I also love the mix of textures. You get the softness of the sand, a bit of structure from the pier, and movement from the water, which keeps everything feeling interesting without doing too much.

Pregnancy is such a special season, even though it goes by so fast! That’s why I always tell my clients to take the photos. Capture this version of yourself and the connection you share before everything shifts into something new.
Lola really leaned into that during her beach maternity session. She stayed present, trusted the process, and was open to trying something a little different. That kind of energy always makes a difference, and you can feel it in the photos.

Being able to photograph Lola and Jeremie’s journey from their announcement to their newborn session meant so much to me. It is always an honor to document such important chapters!
If you are looking for a Miami maternity photographer, I would love to help you plan a maternity session that feels natural and meaningful. Reach out to start creating something together!
