One of the best things about engagement sessions is that they’re a chance to tell your story in a way that feels personal. As a South Florida engagement photographer, I always encourage couples to think beyond traditional locations and incorporate something meaningful into their session.
Sometimes that means revisiting the place where you first met. Other times it might mean bringing along your favorite hobby, your pets, or something that represents your life together.
Macie and Chase’s engagement session was the perfect example of how unique engagement photos in Florida can come to life when couples lean into what makes their relationship special.
Chase is a pilot, so when Macie and Chase started planning their engagement photos, it felt natural to include the airplane he flies. Instead of choosing a typical engagement session location, we met in a quiet field in Homestead where the plane is stored.
The setting was simple and open, which allowed the airplane to really become part of the story. It added such a fun and adventurous element to the photos. From walking together across the field to cuddling up in the cockpit, the entire session felt relaxed and authentic.
Including the airplane made the session truly one of a kind. It was more than just a backdrop. It represented Chase’s passion and something that plays a meaningful role in their life together.
Sessions like this are always memorable because they highlight the details that make a couple’s story unique.

Macie and Chase also brought along their two dogs to be part of the celebration. Their pups instantly added energy and personality to the session.
They walked together through the field and posed proudly next to their humans too. Pets have a way of making sessions feel relaxed and playful, and these two were no exception.
Including dogs in engagement photos is always special because they’re such an important part of everyday life for many couples. These photos capture not just the relationship between Macie and Chase, but the life they’re building together.

South Florida offers no shortage of beautiful locations for engagement photos. Beaches, gardens, historic estates, and waterfront parks are all popular choices for a reason. But sometimes the most meaningful sessions happen when couples choose a setting or idea that reflects their own story.
Macie and Chase’s airplane engagement session is a perfect example. By choosing a location connected to their hobbies and including their dogs, they created photos that feel completely personal.
Unique engagement photos in Florida do not require elaborate planning or complicated setups. Often, the most memorable sessions come from simple ideas that reflect your everyday life together.
When couples lean into what makes their relationship different, the photos feel more natural and authentic.

Macie and Chase’s session is a great reminder that engagement photos can be creative and personal. If you’re thinking about ways to make your session feel unique, here are a few ideas couples often love:
Whether it’s boating, surfing, riding motorcycles, or flying planes like Chase, including a hobby can make your photos feel more like you.
This could be where you had your first date, the neighborhood where you met, or a place that has become meaningful during your relationship.
Dogs add personality, movement, and emotion to photos. They also make the experience feel relaxed and natural.
Walking on the beach, exploring a park, grabbing coffee together, or even taking a boat ride can create more candid and genuine moments.
The goal is not to make the session complicated. It’s simply to create an environment where your personalities can shine.

Macie and Chase’s engagement session was playful and relaxed. Between their airplane, their dogs, and the open field in Homestead, the entire experience felt like a true reflection of their relationship and the excitement of being newly engaged.
As a South Florida engagement photographer, I love helping couples create engagement sessions that feel personal and memorable. Whether that means photographing you at the beach, in a meaningful location, or incorporating something unique like a plane, boat, or your pets, the goal is always the same. I always want to capture this season of your life in a way that feels authentic.
