Why I Love Fairchild for Engagement Sessions

After this Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden engagement session, it immediately became one of my favorite locations in South Florida. The gardens are enormous. Every section feels completely different from the last, which means couples get incredible variety without having to travel between locations. One moment you’re surrounded by dense tropical greenery, and the next you’re walking through open garden spaces with beautiful light filtering through the trees.

What stood out most to me was how immersive the environment feels. You don’t feel like you’re in the middle of Miami. It feels like you’ve escaped somewhere tropical and secluded. The landscaping is meticulously maintained, but there is still a natural element to everything.

Cassie & Don’s Tropical Engagement Session

Cassie and Don knew exactly what they wanted from their engagement photos. Since they’re getting married in Tulum next year, they wanted their session to reflect that tropical energy and sense of adventure. They weren’t interested in a traditional city session or a formal garden feel. They wanted something that felt lush, romantic, and a little unexpected.

One of my favorite parts of their session was exploring the rainforest section of the gardens. This area features a continuous mist system that creates a really unique atmosphere. The combination of soft light, tropical plants, and floating mist made for awesome photos.

We spent the evening wandering through different sections of the gardens, stopping whenever the light and scenery felt right. That’s one of the biggest advantages of Fairchild. There is always another beautiful backdrop waiting around the corner!
