As a South Florida wedding photographer and videographer duo, we can say that a Cruz Building wedding always stands out. This venue feels completely different from anything else in Miami! It’s tucked into Coconut Grove and spans three levels, each just as beautiful.
From the moment you walk into The Cruz Building, you’ll notice the details. Marble staircases, stained glass windows, and carved wood all come together to feel romantic and elevated. It has a strong European influence, but still feels right at home in South Florida.
If you’re looking for a venue that feels immersive and a little unexpected, The Cruz Building is definitely one to consider.

One of the biggest reasons we love photographing a Cruz Building wedding is the variety. You are not limited to one space or one type of backdrop. Every level gives you something different to work with!
The stained glass windows are one of our favorite parts of the venue. The way light filters through them adds so much depth. The grand staircase is another standout! It creates such a strong focal point and works beautifully for both portraits and candid moments.
Maria and Harold’s wedding is a great example of how well this venue photographs. Her dress, the getting ready moments, and all of their details felt elevated in this space. The decor and florals added to it, but the venue itself already had so much character.
We also photographed Diane and Jonathan’s reception here, and the space really came to life for their celebration, too.

What makes a Cruz Building wedding different is the way the day flows. Guests move through the venue rather than staying in one place the entire time.
You might start on the first floor, move upstairs for dinner, and end the night on the 3rd floor for dancing. It keeps the experience feeling fresh and engaging for everyone!
There is also a strong sense of atmosphere here. The lighting, textures, and architectural details all work together. It feels intentional without needing to add too much.
For couples who want something that feels more immersive than a traditional ballroom, this venue is perfect.

There are several spaces within the venue to choose from. Here’s an overview:
This is one of the most recognizable spaces in the venue! Italian cobblestone flooring, a stained glass atrium ceiling, and a central fountain set the tone right away.
It works beautifully for ceremonies or cocktail hour. The space feels intimate, but it still has a sense of scale because of the height and the architectural details. We really love the lanterns and surrounding elements in this space.

The mezzanine overlooks the courtyard and gives guests a different vantage point. It’s a great place for mingling and taking in the full scene.
There are intricate details throughout this level, from wrought iron accents to the carved wood bar with an onyx counter. It’s layered but not overwhelming!
The outdoor terrace adds a bit of fresh air and a break from the interior spaces, which guests always appreciate.

The top level is where receptions really come to life. The ballroom features hand-painted ceilings, a large stained glass window, and rich wood paneling that gives the space a more formal feel. The huge chandelier is also a breathtaking focal point!
The Terraza De Leon offers an outdoor space overlooking Coconut Grove. It’s a great way for guests to be able to step outside without leaving the venue.

From what we’ve seen, a The Cruz Building wedding tends to attract couples who want something a little more unique.
This venue works especially well for couples who:
It’s also a great fit for couples who want their venue to do a lot of the visual work for them! You don’t need to over-decorate here since the space already has so much personality.

Having photographed several weddings here, there are a few things I always keep in mind:

There are so many great spots, but a few always stand out.

A Cruz Building wedding offers something that is really hard to find in other venues. It combines architecture, atmosphere, and a unique flow.
